Due Process

You did not appear
at the hearing. So
there was no admission
of guilt. And no remorse.

You did not appear
at the hearing. So
no regrets expressed
for damage done.

You did not appear
at the hearing. So
no lessons learnt
about harm caused.

You did not appear
at the hearing. So
your face was not
identified. On record.

You did not appear
at the hearing. Just
slid away, to look for
pastures new

and fertile. As if

no wrong

had been done.

No crime

committed.
